Lots of Mice Behind the Stove in Fair Haven, NJ
Challenge
We were sent out to a new customers home in Fair Haven, NJ to handle a mouse issue. When we arrived, we observed a large number of mice droppings throughout the kitchen, particularly around the stove. We suspected that there may be an even larger infestation behind the stove, so we moved it and BINGO! We hit the mother-load!
There was more mice droppings behind the stove as well as a tiny opening that the mice were using to infest the home! Turns out, when the homeowner had a contractor renovate her kitchen, he didn't properly seal up an opening. This allowed the mice to squeeze right through and infest the home. We informed the owner and she immediately called her contractor to come out and correct his mistake!
Solution
In the meantime, we carefully cleaned up all the mice droppings and disinfected the area. Next, we installed several rodent bait stations in the kitchen, the crawl space, and in several locations outside of the home. As a temporary solution, until the contractor arrives, we stuffed the opening with chew-proof metal mesh and sealed it in place with a waterproof adhesive.
We scheduled several followup inspections to monitor the infestation and replenish the bait stations until the mice are no longer infesting the home.
