Termites and Their Mud Tubes Found Throughout Basement in Freehold, NJ
Challenge
As we were servicing this home in Freehold, NJ, we found something interesting in the basement - termite mud tubes! When subterranean termites surface above the ground, they build mud tubes to stay in a moist environment, survive above ground, and travel between their colony and a food source. We took a closer look and discovered that these mud tubes were active!
We reported what we found to the homeowner, who then immediately upgraded her Home Protection Plan so that we can begin our treatment for termites.
Solution
Since termites live beneath the soil, for an effective treatment we drilled into the concrete floor and injected a liquid termiticide. This application binds to the treated soil and creates a protective zone that the termites can't detect. The termites will come in contact with this treatment as they go about their normal routines and share it throughout their colony. In a short amount of time, they will be exterminated and the home will be protected from termites for many years to come.
