Ants Snacking on Chips in Freehold, NJ
Challenge
While servicing one of our commercial accounts, a school in Freehold, NJ, the maintenance supervisor showed us an area of the lunchroom that had ant activity in it. As we inspected, we discovered a large number of ants feasting on someone's leftovers that spilled on the floor! This is why proper sanitation is a key element when it comes to preventing pests!
Solution
When servicing schools, an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach is used to control the infestation of any pests found inside a building where people are present. When pest activity is found either through the use of glue board monitors or by visual inspection, the use of non-liquid or non-aerosol products is used to control the unwanted pests.
In this case, we applied an ant gel bait along the ant trails. The ants go crazy for this bait and once they come in contact with it, they'll return to their nest and share it with one another. The treatment then rapidly spreads throughout the colony and the entire nest is exterminated.
