Check Around Your Property for Possible Entry Points for Mice
Challenge
During a regular service of this commercial building in Mantoloking, NJ, we noticed several gaps around the crawl space doors and windows. If left alone, these openings can lead to a potential mice infestation. Mice can temporarily flatten themselves to squeeze through gaps, openings, and cracks that are the width of a pencil!
Solution
We brought the issues to the managers' attention and he will have his maintenance crew repair and replace the crawl space doors and windows. In the meantime, we stuffed all the gaps in the windows and the openings around the utility pipes with chew-proof, stainless steel mesh and then seal them in place with a waterproof, premium adhesive.
Although we didn't see any signs of mice around the property, at the managers' request, we installed several exterior rodent bait stations. We will return for a follow-up visit to see if there has been any activity in the bait boxes, and if so, replenish them.
