Challenge

During a recent service visit to a community in Mantoloking, NJ, we discovered a dormant bald-faced hornets' nest in a tree. As the weather gets colder, many hornets' nests begin to die off and the young queen leaves the nest. The old nest is never reinhabited by the hornets, and the threat of these stinging insects is eliminated.

Solution

Regardless, the nest is still perceived as a threat to many of the residents and needs to be removed. We carefully removed the nest, and the branch it was attached to, and properly disposed of them.
