Termites Found from the Floor to the Ceiling in Brick, NJ
Challenge
After noticing some termite damage in the ceiling of his basement, this homeowner in Brick, NJ, called our office for help and we were sent out to investigate and treat. As we inspected the area, we found termite mud tubes coming out of the solid ceiling. Mud tubes function to protect termites and are used so that the termites can travel safely from their colony to a food source. We investigated further and found a colony of termites underneath a small stoop that was adjacent to the ceiling.
Solution
Termites live beneath the soil and enter your home below the ground level of the dirt. For an effective treatment, we drilled into the stoop (as well as around the entire perimeter of the home) and injected a liquid termiticide. This application binds to the treated soil and creates a protective zone that the termites cannot detect. We then drilled into the ceiling and injected a foaming version of the termiticide.
Once the termites come in contact with either the applications, they'll transfer it to the other termites in the colony. In a short amount of time, the termites are exterminated and the home will be termite-free and protected for many years to come.
