Yellow Jackets Hiding in the Retention Wall in Mantoloking, NJ

Challenge

As this homeowner in Mantoloking, NJ, was getting ready to replace one of the windows in his living room, during his renovations, he was suddenly attacked by several yellow jackets! He immediately called our office and we were sent out. 

Once we arrived, we equipped our bee suits and the homeowner showed us where the yellow jackets were coming from. Turns out, there was a yellow jacket nest actually inside the wall right under the window! After observing this, we decided to inspect the window from the exterior. That's when we discovered a small hole in the wall from the outside, which was how the yellow jackets were able to infest the home!

Solution

First, we injected an aerosol application directly into the opening, which will rapidly exterminate the yellow jackets. Once they were eliminated, we carefully removed the nest from the wall and disposed of it. Even though the homeowner was going to repair the wall and the window, we sealed up the opening on the outside with a premium adhesive in order to prevent any other pest from infesting the building. Now the yellow jackets are gone and the homeowner can resume his renovations without getting stung.
