Highway for Mice Behind the Freezer in Bradley Beach, NJ
Challenge
During a routine service of this commercial building in Bradley Beach, NJ we noticed something unusual underneath the freezer, mouse droppings! We decided to investigate further and take a look behind the freezer. Not only did we find even more mouse droppings, but we noticed that the area behind the freezer hasn't been cleaned in quite some time.
We brought this to the attention of the manager and suggested some vital sanitation procedures that he and his staff can implement. When it comes to pest control, it is always better to be proactive than reactive and proper sanitation to the best way to prevent any type of pest infestation in your business or home.
As the manager and his staff went to work cleaning, we closely examined the area for an entry point for the mice. After a short while, we noticed that there was a small gap underneath the back door that was the perfect size for mice to enter.
Solution
We carefully cleaned up the mouse droppings and then installed an Xcluder® Rodent Proof Door Sweep. This product features a sturdy clear aluminum retainer and reinforced rubber weather-seal filled with a double density inner layer of a polyfiber and coarse stainless steel wool blend that creates a barrier that is impenetrable to mice, rats, and other pests.
Afterward, we installed several interior and exterior rodent bait stations and scheduled a follow-up visit to replenish the bait in the bait stations until the mice are no longer present in the building.
