Shower Full of Ants in Freehold, NJ
Challenge
This homeowner in Freehold, NJ was curious and frustrated that, despite it was the middle of winter, she was finding ants in her bathroom. So she called our office and I was sent out to investigate.
As I started inspecting, I came across one single ant that was crawling along the edge of her shower stall. I followed this ant to a small gap in the corner of the shower door. Upon closer inspection, I found several ants inside this tiny gap and determined that this was their main nesting area!
Solution
First, I injected an aerosol application directly into the small gap. This treatment will rapidly exterminate the ants. Then, with the homeowner's permission, I treated the bathroom, the hallway, the main bedroom, and the adjacent room with a liquid non-repellant. Once the ants come in contact with this application, they will bring it back to their nest and transfer it among one another. Shortly after, the entire colony is eliminated.
In order to prevent future infestations, I used a waterproof adhesive to seal up this opening in the shower, as well as all the cracks and crevices throughout the interior and exterior of the home.
