Challenge
A new customer of Cowley's in Rumson, NJ called our office after discovering a few wasps hovering around the back area of his home. Once we arrived, we inspected the area in question and noticed some staining along with the fascia board above the back doors. Upon further inspection, we found a large wasps nest in the gap between the fascia board and siding.
Wasps will make a nest just about anywhere around your property, including your house. Taking a moment to check and see if there are any wasps, bees, or hornets flying around a specific part of your home is a good indication that there may be nesting somewhere inside your home. Always take note of the location of where the activity is seen and avoid messing with the nest itself or else you could get seriously injured.
Solution
We treated the nest with a knockdown dust application which eliminates the wasps almost immediately. After several minutes, we carefully removed the nest and properly disposed of it. Finally, we applied a non-repellent residual product along with the fascia board as well as the entire roofline. This will prevent any future stinging insects from building a nest on the home.
