Exterminators in Manasquan, NJ
Challenge
While I was servicing one of our commercial accounts in Manasquan, NJ, I came across several glue monitors with German cockroaches on them.
German cockroaches are the most common cockroach species found most often in restaurants, food processing facilities, and nursing homes. They prefer to live in warm, humid places close to food and water sources, hence why they are primarily found in kitchens and bathrooms.
Now just because a business has German cockroaches doesn't necessarily mean that the location is unsanitary. Although sanitation does play a HUGE factor in pest control, German cockroaches are good hitchhikers and often find their way into new structures by hitching a ride in grocery bags, cardboard boxes, and secondhand appliances such as refrigerators and microwaves. Since the manager informed me that he recently purchased a secondhand industrial microwave and that they were found near the microwave, this is likely how the cockroaches entered the building.
Solution
After explaining my findings to the manager he immediately discarded the microwave and had his employees clean the entire building from top to bottom. After they finished cleaning, I applied a gel bait along all the potential harborage areas for the cockroaches to feed on and applied a liquid product to eradicate these unwanted intruders.
Once the cockroaches come in contact with either of these applications they will be eliminated. I placed new glue monitors and will return in two weeks to reinspect and apply any additional treatment.
