Heavy cockroach infestation in Asbury Park, NJ
Challenge
Recently, a landlord in Asbury Park, NJ, contacted us to resolve a heavy roach infestation discovered in a vacant unit after the tenant had moved out. With any roach infestation, it is essential to locate their hidden harborage areas. During my inspection, I pulled the stove away from the wall, and an army of cockroaches (a group of cockroaches is technically called an intrusion!) came out from behind the wall almost as if they knew the jig was up.
Solution
A vacant unit is always easier to treat than one with tenants since there is no clutter. It’s just a matter of flushing the pests out of their hiding spots behind appliances and other areas. To treat this unit, I fogged the entire unit and also micro-injected product into every crack, gap, and crevice I could locate. This roach treatment is particularly effective because it penetrates deep into all of their inaccessible harborage areas — the cracks and crevices of walls, inside all of the kitchen cabinets, behind and underneath the kitchen appliances, and wherever else these disease-carrying pests are hiding. Since the apartment was vacant there was no tenant clutter or food debris to deal with, and it won’t take long for this treatment to work. Because of the application method, it will permeate into all of the roach hiding spots and completely eliminate the infestation. Once done, the new tenant will be able to move into a roach-free apartment, and the landlord will be able to preserve his reputation in the rental community.
