Our adventures bought us to Rumson, NJ to the home of a Home Protection Plan client. The homeowner called us to complain about a bird getting into the house while he was away on vacation. We needed to figure out how the bird got into the house and make sure this wasn't going to happen again. We began our inspection by trying to determine and rule out points of entry. Upon inspection of the chimney, we found it was missing a cap.
Solution
In order to prevent any future nuisance birds and wildlife from entering the house via the chimney, we installed a chimney cap. This heavy-duty material is constructed out of 24 Gauge Top and Flange, and 18 Gauge Galvanized Mesh! This cap will be in good working condition for years to come.
