The attic hasn't been touched in decades. All of the insulation was contaminated with debris and no longer efficient. So we removed all of the fiberglass insulation and disposed of it.
Attic Gets Disinfected
Next, we disinfected the entire attic and cleaned up all the debris.
Light Covers Over Recessed Lights
We then placed several measuring markers throughout the attic to guarantee that the proper amount of R-value is added and installed Tight Shell Can Light Covers over the recessed lights in the attic. These are made out of a fire resistant material and is specifically designed to stop unwanted air leakage through the recessed lights.
Finally TruSoft
Finally we added approximately 12 inches TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation throughout the attic. Trusoft blown-in cellulose insulation fills the attic to its recommended insulation levels, has the highest Class-1 fire safety rating, is resistant to mold and pests, is eco-friendly, maximizes home comfort, and optimizes energy usage for year-round peace and savings for the homeowner!
