A homeowner from Howell, NJ called our office because she was hearing a loud running sound in her attic. She was worried for her safety and was extremely scared for her and her kids. When we arrived, we inspected her attic and the exterior of the house, looking for signs of any opening. A few minutes into the inspection and w found squirrel droppings in the attic and her front fascia boards ripped apart. We temporarily sealed off the area with hardware cloth and installed a one-way device over the main access point. This will allow the squirrels to safely leave, but prevent them from getting back in. We also installed several baited devices nearby. Once we safely retrieve all the squirrels we will relocate them to a new humane location, disinfect the area, replace the insulation with TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation, and replace the damaged fascia boards with new, sturdy metal flashing.
