Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Damages to the Porch Soffit Done by Raccoons in Warren, NJ
Damaged
As you may have guessed, this is where the raccoon had entered the home; the soffit area above the porch. It caused quite a lot of damaged too!
We're Positive We'll Retrieve the Raccoon
To retrieve the raccoon safely, we installed a positive set over the access point, temporarily enclosed the area off with hardware cloth, and installed several baited devices. A positive set is made up of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone is going to safely guide the raccoon into the device. It's called a positive set, because we are positive that the raccoon will enter the device!
The Repairs
A short while later, we successfully retrieved the raccoon and relocated it to a humane environment. After disinfecting the area, we began our repairs. The first thing we did was remove the damaged pieces of the soffit.
Good as New
Lastly, we installed a new piece of soffit over the porch!
