Commercial Property Plagued by Raccoons in Metuchen, NJ
Challenge
Raccoons have plagued this commercial property in Metuchen, NJ for a long time. After being absent for a little while, the raccoons are back again and it took some careful inspection to find out how. Almost every possible point of entry has already been patched by another company. After checking each one, we found one had been compromised. Turns out, the trim coil they used was only secured with three small screws and caulking that has cracked and faded in the sun. The raccoons had no trouble tearing it out and squeezing past.
Solution
We removed the poor excuse for exclusion and installed a one-way device. This allows the raccoons to leave the area but prevents them from getting back in. We also placed several baited devices nearby. Once all the raccoons are safely removed, we will relocate them to a new location, disinfect the area, and patch up this opening and every other opening, at the property manager's request, with sturdy metal flashing.
