The owner mentioned that he purchased the mattress from a secondhand furniture store. The bed bugs were already residing in the mattress just waiting for their next meal. When the owner brought it home, these little bloodsuckers took advantage and started feasting on the unsuspecting individual! This is one of the many reasons why we suggest not purchasing furniture from a secondhand store or, if you do, thoroughly inspect it.
Vacuum Up the Bloodsuckers
First, we vacuumed up all the live bed bugs and their eggs. Once we finished with that, we treated every single crevice of the mattress, headboard, bed frame, end table and other areas of the bedroom with a fungicide application. The fungicide application is going to create a barrier that's going to infect and neutralize the bed bugs quickly.
Return Visits for the Customer
Next, we treated every single outlet throughout the bedroom, and the hallway, with a residual dusting product. This will target bed bugs of all life stages, sex, and feeding status and exterminate them within a short amount of time. After all that was done, we scheduled a number of follow-up inspections with the homeowners to come back out, monitor the bed bug activity, and apply any additional treatments if necessary.
