This townhouse in Long Branch, NJ, had a bad infestation of German cockroaches
In All the Pantries
During our inspection, we found a ton of German cockroaches in the pantries, underneath the fridge and microwave, throughout the drawers,...
Must be Disposed of ASAP
...and along the kitchen countertop! For an effective treatment first, the owner must dispose of every single contaminated perishable item as well as remove everything that isn't nailed down and wash them (after we treat the area). After mentioning this to the owner, she did just that!
Molted Cockroach
First, we treated every square inch of the kitchen, the pantries, and in the cracks of all the appliances with a residual application that's combined with an EPA registered insect growth regulator. This application affects the reproductive system of the cockroaches and prevents them from reaching adulthood. During our treatment, we spotted a cockroach that had just molted!
Cockroach Egg Capsule
We also spotted several cockroach egg capsules. After the first treatment, we then treated the cracks, crevices, appliances, and baseboards throughout the high infestation areas with a knockdown aerosol product. This application flushes the cockroaches out of hiding, into the growth regulator, and rapidly exterminates them.
Return for Several Inspections
Lastly, we installed a number monitoring devices throughout the high infestation areas and then scheduled several follow-up inspections to monitor the cockroach infestation and apply any additional treatments if needed.
