Hovering Around an Area

As we inspected the kitchen, we noticed that the fruit flies were hovering around a particular floor drain under the sink. We took a closer look and found two floor drains that were loaded with gunk, food debris, and dark-eyed fruit flies!

Love to Breed in These Conditions

Dark-eyed fruit flies are brown with dark eyes and thrive in moist, smelly organic debris that is out of sight. They are most common in bars, restaurants, and delis where they breed under equipment, near drains, sinks, and beverage taps where water can settle and allow a buildup of organic matter.  This type of fruit fly cannot bite or transmit any diseases, but they can carry around bacteria from one place to another and contaminate food.

Liquid Application & Then Scrub

For treatment, we applied a liquid application in each floor drain and then scrubbed them out with our heavy-duty scrubbing brush.

Eliminates the Bad Bacteria

This application removes the bad bacteria in the drains, which is the breeding ground for the fruit flies.

Now for the Bio Foam

Afterward, we applied a bio-foam solution in the floor drains. This product removes all the organic build-up, odors, and scum inside them. As a precaution, we repeated this process to every floor drain in the area.

Good as New

Lastly, we applied a fly bait around this around. This application will exterminate any and all of the adult fruit flies that are still in the area.
