Inside the Cracks
We found the ants all over the back door and inside the crevices. A closer look told us that these were odorous house ants.
All About These Smelly Ants
They are called odorous house ants because when you startle or crush them, they emit a rotten coconut smell.
Found Their Nest
We followed their trail all the way to their main nest in a bush that was 20 yards from the restaurant.
Odorous House Ant Elimination
First, we flushed the ants out of hiding using an aerosol product that rapidly exterminates them. Next, we treated the entire exterior foundation with a liquid non-repellant.
Throughout the Nest
Lastly, we applied an ant gel bait near the high infestation areas. Once the worker ants come in contact with either of these products, they will transfer the treatments throughout their colony once they return to it. Shortly after, the odorous house ants are exterminated.
