Pests We Treat Photo Album: Clover Mites All Over Back Patio in Little Silver, NJ
A new Home Protection Plan customer called our office after noticing tiny, red pests all over his back patio.
Those Are Clover Mites
When we took a closer look at these "red-headed" pests, we quickly identified them as clover mites.
What Are Clover Mites
Clover mites are oval-shaped, reddish colored insects that are the size of a head on a pin and tend to feed on clovers, over-fertilized grass, and other plants. Although these pests aren't dangerous to humans, they do invade homes in large numbers.
Do NOT Crush Them
Should you ever find these colorful pests on your property, whatever you do, do NOT crush them. Because they leave behind red stains that are very difficult to remove.
Neutralization of Clover Mites
We began treating the area with a liquid non-repellant that'll eliminate these pests almost immediately and prevent any additional clover mites from infesting the property.
