Pests We Treat Photo Album: Mice in the Walls in Matawan, NJ
A customer in Matawan NJ had been hearing a lot of strange noises in both her attic and in one wall in her bedroom.
Inspected the Attic
I inspected the attic and found a lot of activity on one side of the attic. It was filled with mice droppings and tunnels.
Mice Tunnels
Tunneling is a common behavior for mice, and a colony of mice will tunnel through your insulation in order to create a nest.
Down the Wall
It was obvious that the noise the homeowner kept hearing was the mice in the attic traveling down to the walls into the bedroom!
Time of Year
Once the temperatures start to drop, mice (and nuisance wildlife) start to look for warm places to nest, and what better place than an insulated attic?!
Gaps on the Outside
While inspecting the outside of the home, I found several gaps that were large enough for the mice to fit through. I plugged them up with steel mesh and sealed them with a waterproof adhesive.
Installed the RTU
I installed several Ready-to-Use rodent bait stations throughout the attic and several exterior rodent bait stations around the home.
Soon
I'll return for a follow-up visit to monitor the infestation, replenish the bait, and apply any additional treatments if needed.
