Pests We Treat Photo Album: Ants Crawling on the Back Porch in Neptune, NJ
A homeowner in Neptune, NJ was experiencing an issue with ants all over her back patio.
Marching Along
Upon arrival, I found ants crawling along the porch railing up into a crevice under the siding as well as trailing from the ground up through the middle of a bush touching the porch and onto the porch railing.
Granular Bait
First, I treated the crevice under the siding with a residual aerosol to flush the ants out and then applied a granular bait to the infested areas.
How the Treatments Eliminate the Ants
The ants will come in contact with the granular bait and transport it back to their nest to share with one another. Shortly after, the entire colony is eliminated.
Advice to the Client
I also spot treated with a liquid residual, that works similar to the granular bait, along the foundation of the porch. I advised the homeowner to cut back all the bushes and shrubs so they aren't touching the house (doing this makes it difficult for the ants to infest the property). In no time at all, the property will be free of ants.
