One of our Home Protection Plan customers in Port Monmouth, NJ spotted a large number of ants crawling all over his back deck.
Crawling on the Deck
I inspected the deck and found a massive amount of odorous house ants. Odorous house ants are tiny, fast ants that emit a rotten, coconut smell when crushed.
Follow the Smelly Trail
I followed their trail all the way to a landscape bed about 10 feet from the deck area.
Here's How to Treat Them
I applied a granular bait to the landscape bed and a residual non-repellant to the deck area and along the exterior of the home.
Proper Extermination
These products don't eliminate the ants immediately, but rather allow them to return to their nest and share it with one another through feeding and grooming. The ants transfer the products rapidly throughout their colony, and in not time at all, they are exterminated.
