Cluster Flies by the Shed
Upon inspection, I found a massive amount of cluster flies on the interior and exterior of the shed.
What are Cluster Flies
Cluster flies, also known as attic flies, are about 8 to 10 millimeters in size and prefer warm areas of a home. They enter a structure by crawling through small openings in the walls or electrical sockets.
Waking Up After Overwintering
After completing my inspection, I found no sign of a dead animal that would attract them to the area, which means that the flies were waking up from overwintering.
For Treatment
I applied a fly bait application that contains a sugar based residual around the door and all the windows of the shed. This product attracts the flies to the area and they'll consume the residual. Soon after, they are eliminated. I also treated around the exterior windows and doors on the back of the house.
