Pests We Treat Photo Album: Disgusted Homeowner Finds Bed Bugs in Belmar, NJ
A very concerned homeowner in Belmar, New Jersey was absolutely disgusted when he found a bed bug on his mattress.
That's Not How it Works
The homeowner had previously purchased a mattress encasement thinking that it would make sure that he never had bed bugs. Unfortunately, mattress encasements don't do that. They simply encase the mattress and box spring so nothing can get in or out. That doesn't mean the bed bugs can't live on the surface, as you can see here.
Spotted the Little Pest
When I started my inspection I found a nymph on the zipper cover of the mattress encasement. The zipper cases are always a common spot because bed bugs can get into the crevice, which makes them feel safe and secure. I immediately took my vacuum and began vacuuming all of the cracks and crevices of the mattress encasements as well as all the surrounding furniture.
Now for the Residual
Once everything was vacuumed I applied a light liquid residual to all of the gaps, cracks and crevices of the bed frame and throughout the home.
Bed Bugs Dusted
When that was completed, I removed all of the outlet covers and began applying a residual dust inside the walls. This dust will stay active for a very long time and, much like the liquid residual, will exterminate any bed bugs that may come in contact with it inside the wall voids.
Cowleys Get's it Done
I scheduled a follow up visit to make sure the bed bugs are neutralized for good. The homeowner was extremely happy with how thorough our process was and looking forward to being able to sleep through the night without having to worry about bed bugs.
