Pests We Treat Photo Album: Mice Making a Mess in Middletown, NJ
A customer in Middletown, NJ was having a problem with mice in their kitchen.
Droppings Under the Stove
I thoroughly inspected the entire kitchen and surrounding rooms and found an abundance of mouse droppings under the stove.
You Must Be Careful
Mouse droppings carry a plethora of bacteria and diseases, most infamously the Hantavirus. The utmost care is needed when removing the droppings.
A Way In
After carefully vacuuming up all the droppings I continued my inspection and noticed a gap in the garage door.
Small Opening is a Huge Opportunity
The rubber seal that goes on the bottom of the garage door was missing, giving the mice a clear and easy way to get into the house.
The Size of a Pencil
Mice only need an opening the size of a pencil to enter a building. I showed the homeowner and advised them that the garage door needs to be repaired.
Ready-to-Use Stations
I installed several RTU rodent bait stations near the garage doors and behind the stove in the kitchen. As a temporary solution, I filled the opening with copper mesh.
Sweeping Away
I also placed a door sweep with rodent proof fabric underneath the garage door. This creates a strong barrier that mice are unwilling and unable to gnaw through.
