Pests We Treat Photo Album: Traveling Abroad and Bringing Home Bed Bugs in Monroe, NJ
My first stop of the day brought me to Monroe, NJ. A very distraught woman had found bed bugs in her home and needed the situation eradicated as quickly as possible. I can absolutely understand the stress and chaos that it brings to your life when you discover a bed bug that’s feeding on you.
Found Them
After thoroughly inspecting the home, I found the bed bugs on her mattress in the master bedroom.
Low-Level Issue
Fortunately for this new client she had what we consider a low level issue. A low level issue is when a small number of bed bugs are found in one area of the home. However, just because it's a low level situation does not mean that it can become a high-level situation if you don't treat it quickly and efficiently.
Treat the Entire Bedroom
I vacuumed all of the crack and crevice areas around the bedframe as well as the bedside furniture. Once that was done I installed the mattress and box spring encasements so that nothing could get in or out of those two items. When that was completed I applied a light liquid treatment to all of the small gaps, cracks, and crevices of the bedroom.
Treat the Couches as Well
I thought it was imperative to treat the couches as well. Bed bugs may be called bed bugs but they aren't confined to living just in the bed. So I vacuumed and applied a light liquid application to all of the cracks and crevices of the couch.
Will Be Back
I scheduled a two week follow-up before leaving so I can return and assess the situation. It's not uncommon to see a bed bug or two in between the first and second treatment. Whatever is lingering deep inside a wall will come out and cross over the product that we applied. When they come in contact with the products that we apply, they are quickly eliminated.
