Pests We Treat Photo Album: Family Member Brings Bed Bugs Over in Freehold, NJ

A new client from Freehold, NJ discovered bed bugs on her couch after a family member had stayed over for a few nights. She immediately called Cowleys services to get rid of the problem before it becomes a major infestation. We were more than ready to do the job and came very prepared.

Step One - Inspect

The most important step is the inspection, we always inspect before we treat. Our inspections and treatments include turning over furniture in order to inspect all areas and find out where they may be hiding. It's important to look everywhere, not just where we can see. After flipping over the couch we found one adult bed body that had recently fed.

Some Good News

Fortunately for these clients, after a thorough inspection of the entire house, we didn't find any more bed bugs roaming around. We did advise them that the bed bug we found was a female, which you can tell by the shape. We didn't want to take the chance that it didn't lay eggs so they decided to go forward with treatment.

Our Treatments

Our treatments consist of vacuuming as well as a light liquid application to the areas of concern. Of course, turning the couch upside down and really examining the cracks and crevices are absolutely critical.

Under Pressure

Bed bugs love to hide in spaces where they can't be seen. They really love having pressure on multiple sides of their body at one time and the underside of a couch offers many areas where they can hide.

Step Two - Vacuuming

We vacuumed all of the cracks and crevices around the couch as well as the coffee table and other close by furniture. We then vacuumed all the bedrooms in the home. Once everything was vacuumed we began the liquid application.

Step Three - Liquid Application

With the liquid application we really focus on the areas where the bed bugs will hide. We always thoroughly treat the areas safely.

We scheduled a two week follow up so we could come back and inspect the couch as well as the surrounding rooms. The client was very satisfied and already recommended us to the family member that had stayed over.
