Time to Inspect
We arrived and conducted a thorough inspection of the whole entire home. Bed bugs are nature's best hitchhikers and can reside in other areas of the home aside from the bedroom.
Only in the Bedroom
After a very careful and detailed inspection, it was determined that the bed bugs were only residing in the master bedroom, but we will do a preventative treatment to the other rooms that were used on a regular basis to give the homeowner peace of mind.
Need to Think Outside the Box
This particular job was a little bit tricky because the legs of the boxspring were screwed on. In most cases, a box spring just sits on a frame and it's easy to encase but in this situation, we had to get creative.
Vacuum and then Encase
After we vacuumed up all of the live activity of bed bugs from the boxspring we put a bed bug mattress encasement on the bed. These are designed so that bed bugs cannot escape them. I then grabbed my utility knife and cut holes where I could screw the legs through the encasement. We wanted to ensure that nothing would get in or out of the box spring for any future issues.
One Last Thing
Once that was completed we applied a liquid application to all of the harborage areas. By applying a liquid application we are leaving a residual barrier that will take care of any future issues. It's good to have protection even if you feel that the problem is gone.
