Pests We Treat Photo Album: Mice Make a Mess of Attic Insulation in Middletown, NJ
A new customer in Middletown, NJ kept hearing noises in her attic and was concerned, so he contacted Cowleys for help!
Confirming her Fears
When we arrived, the homeowner was terrified that she might have mice in her attic. We began inspecting the attic area and found a tiny tunnel inside the insulation with mouse feces nest to it, confirming the homeowners fears.
Common for Mice
Tunneling is a common behavior for mice, and a colony of mice will tunnel through your insulation in order to create a nest.
A Lot of Tunnels
As we thoroughly inspected the attic, we found even more tunnels that the mice dug up as well as multiple holes in the siding of the attic which could be possible entryways for the mice.
Health Concerns of Rodent Droppings
It is important to avoid coming in direct contact with mice feces. Hantavirus is a life-threatening disease transmitted by rodents and humans can become sick if they come in contact with contaminated dust from mice nests or droppings.
Rodent Bait Stations
To get rid of these mice we installed multiple rodent bait stations throughout the attic.
Stuffy
And then located every single entranceway and stuffed it up with Xcluder fill fabric. This fabric is made up a blend of coarse stainless steel and poly fibers to form a highly resilient and impenetrable barrier that the mice cannot get through.
Sealed it Up
After stuffing the entranceways, we sealed them up with premium adhesive/sealant based on terpolymer technology and offers an alternative to silicone & urethane sealants and caulk.
See You Soon
We scheduled a follow up inspection to monitor the infestation and replenish the bait stations. Once all the mice are gone, we will remove all the contaminated insulation and replace it.
