Pests We Treat Photo Album: Exterminators in Jackson, NJ
Not to long ago, a resident in Jackson, NJ called our office after discovering a large wasp nest on his back porch.
Now THAT'S a Big Nest
When I began inspecting the back porch area, it was quite easy to find the very large and very ACTIVE wasp nest. After a closer inspection, I identified them as bald-faced hornets (due to the white markings on the front of their head).
Starts Slow, But Get's Big
At first the colony growth starts off slow, but eventually, if left untreated and as workers emerge, the nest grows to the size of a basketball and contain approximately 100 to 400 hornets! Not to mention bald-faced hornets, since they are a close relative to yellowjackets, are VERY aggressive!
Here's the Plan
In order to remove this nest successfully I put on my bee suit, grabbed my extension pole, attached an aerosol application to it, and began fogging the nest.
Quickly Eliminated
This application rapidly neutralizes the bald-faced hornets. I also applied a dusting application into the soffit area to eliminate any hornets hiding inside. Once the hornets were eliminated I used my scraper to remove the nest, bagged it, and properly disposed of it.
