Keeping Clients Safe From Hornets on Allenhurst, NJ Property
Challenge
Cowleys offers a variety of residential service plans that cover the treatment of dozens of common household pests. These plans have an important proactive component. We schedule three annual visits to inspect and treat the home’s exterior perimeter. This goes a long way in reducing the chance of an infestation of during bug season. These service plans offer homeowners peace of mind.
While visiting one of our service plan clients in Allenhurst, I noticed a large nest high up in a tree sitting right above his home. Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was a hornet’s nest. Not all stinging insects build nests, but many do including aerial yellow jackets, paper wasps, and bald-faced hornets. All of Cowleys residential protection plans cover these insects. Often, hornets build nests directly on the home, especially around the eaves of the roof and the soffit area. However, as you can see in the attached picture, these nests are intimidating just to look at, no matter where they are located on the property.
Solution
So, I wanted this one taken down and removed the nest on my own initiative before the customer even asked me about the nest, or even knew about it. This is typical of how I respond to problems during a service call. Once at a residence, I get things done immediately as I see them, staying a step ahead.
For the pest control technicians at Cowleys, it’s all about ensuring that our customers are getting great service, or, as we like to say internally, delivering ”WOW service” to our clients — service that goes above and beyond the customer’s expectations and beyond our stated job description. Our goals is to anticipate and resolve potential problems before they turn into actual ones.
