Cockroaches in Woodbridge, NJ
Challenge
Why I "do" what I "do" for a living is a question that I'm asked on a daily basis by customers, friends and family. My typical response is as follows, "I like to solve problems and educate people to the best of my ability." I usually get a head nod, then the tightening of lips in conjunction with the squinty eyed look.
"Educate people?" Absolutely! Most often people have a common pest issue such as roaches, ants or mice that can be completely solved with some simple educational tips.
For example, I walked into one of my many commercial accounts this morning and was greeted with a smile then a frantic look. I instantly knew something was going on that needed to be addressed. The customer took me to one area where roaches were spotted and explained that they've been having an "issue" and to please use the "strong stuff" to fix the problem.
I assured the customer that I'd do my best to fix the problem and I'll be sure to let them know of my findings. I proceeded to lay down on my side and with my flashlight get a good look. I immediately discovered everything a roach loves and needs to survive. Water, the key to life, grease and food debris. There was enough roach food for months. I started taking pictures so I could show my findings to the manager
Solution
I filled out a sanitation report and gave it to the manager, then went about my treatment process which consisted of a suspended chemical application, gel bait and many monitors to determine there course of travel.
When I showed the pictures to the manager she didn't understand why roaches would like this area.....until I educated her on the wants and needs of a roach. She assured me the area would be clean and was thankful that I explained the process and life cycle of the roach.
