Yellow Jackets Invade Boy's Bedroom in Freehold, NJ.
Challenge
A homeowner called us about an issue with yellow jackets getting into his home in Freehold, NJ. Unfortunately, the homeowner's son was stung while in his bed. He had no idea how the yellow jackets were entering his home. When I arrived, I spoke with the homeowner about the situation and found out that he had knocked down a yellow jacket nest that had formed outside his son's bedroom. The nest was attached to the soffit above the window. With the weather turning colder, some of the yellow jackets had entered the wall void from outside. Yellow jackets can be very aggressive. The wasps were entering the bedroom from a gap under the molding below the window, which I showed to the homeowner.
Solution
I treated the void with a knockdown dusting application, which will rapidly exterminate the yellow jackets. After treatment, instructed the homeowner to seal the gap. He was extremely happy knowing his family would be safe from any more stinging wasps.
