A Big Bed Bug Infestation in the Mattress in Neptune, NJ

Challenge

We were sent out to a home in Neptune, NJ to handle a bed bug infestation in the master bedroom. As we inspected the room, we found a TON of bed bugs throughout the mattress, and some even in the headboard! Bed bugs love to harbor in tight crevices of beds, couches, and other areas where they feel pressure on both sides of their body. They can also be found in other areas, like a rug or a suitcase, where they have close access to a blood meal.

Solution

The first step we took was to vacuum up all the live bed bugs and their eggs. Next, we treated every single crevice of the mattress, headboard, bed frame, and the end table with a fungicide application. The fungicide application is going to create a barrier that will infect and neutralize the bed bugs quickly. 

Once we finished with that, we treated every single outlet throughout the master bedroom, and the hallway as a precaution, with a residual dusting product. This will target bed bugs of all life stages, sex, and feeding status and exterminate them within a short amount of time. Lastly, we schedule a number of follow-up inspections to monitor the infestation and apply any additional treatments if necessary.
