Digger Bees Infesting the Homeowners' Front Yard in Rumson, NJ
Challenge
We received a call from a frantic customer in Rumson, NJ stating that she was planning on having a graduation party at her house in a few weeks and that her front yard was infested with bees! So we were sent out to investigate. Once we arrived, we inspected the areas in question and determined that these were digger bees.
Digger bees are about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long and “dig” nests into the ground that are about 1/2 of an inch deep in areas of the landscape where the grass is sparse or very thin. The typically sign of a digger bee infestation are little mounds of soil with a hole nearby and digger bees flying over the area.
Solution
We injected a residual dusting application into each one of the digger bee mounds. Afterward, we applied a granular bait to every single one. Both of these treatments will rapidly exterminate all the digger bees!
