Dresser Drawers Filled with Bed Bugs in Bradley Beach, NJ
Challenge
A customer in Bradley Beach, NJ called our office after noticing small bite marks all over her body and was terrified that she might have bed bugs. So we were sent out to inspect and treat. As we inspected the bed room, the bed frame, and the mattress we didn't find any signs of bed bugs harboring in those areas. That's when the owner mentioned that she changed her bed sheets just the other day and stored them in her dresser. So we took a look inside the drawers and BOOM! We found a large infestation of bed bugs in each one of the dresser drawers and underneath the dresser too!
Just because they're called bed bugs, doesn't mean that they only harbor in a bed. They will harbor anywhere close to where they have access to a blood meal, as well as tight corners and crevices of an area (like a mattress or couch) where they can feel pressure on both sides of their body.
Solution
To eliminate the bed bugs, the first thing we did was vacuum up all the live bed bugs and their eggs. Next, we treated every single infested area throughout the bedroom with a fungicide application. This product creates a barrier that infects and exterminates the bed bugs over a short period of time. Once that was finished, we treated every outlet throughout the entire home with a residual dusting product. This treatment will eradicate bed bugs of all life stages, sex, and feeding status within a short amount of time.
Lastly, we scheduled several follow-up visits to monitor the infestation and, if needed, apply any additional treatments.
