Ants Crawling Into the Cracks in Howell, NJ
Challenge
During a summer service for a new Home Protection Plan customer in Howell, NJ, we noticed a long trail of ants marching along the edge of the driveway. We followed their trail to a large ant hill that was right in front of the rock wall. We took a closer look and observed the ants going in and out of a small crack in the rock wall. As we inspected the exterior of the home, we located several trails of ants along the side of the building.
Solution
First, we treated the edge of the rock wall, the driveway, and the entire exterior of the home with a liquid non-repellant residual. Afterward, we applied a granular bait to the entire landscape. The worker ants are going to come in contact with either of these products and bring them back to their nest. They will then transfer the treatments to their queen and the other ants in the colony either by feeding one another, grooming one another, or eating their own dead. A short while later, the ants will be exterminated.
