Bald-Faced Hornets Nest Found in Enclosed Porch in Pine Beach, NJ
Challenge
As this elderly homeowner in Pine Beach, NJ brought her grandkids out to her enclosed porch, she found an active, basketball sized bald-faced hornets nest in the corner. She quickly brought the children inside and called Cowleys for help.
If there's one thing you need to remember about bald-faced hornets, is that they are extremely aggressive and territorial. They can actually sense vibrations in the air, so if anything or anyone gets close to their nest, they WILL attack.
Solution
For treatment, we injected a knockdown dusting application directly into the opening the nest. Several moments later, we applied a knockdown liquid product. Both of these treatments will rapidly exterminate the hornets. A short while later, we removed the nest, disposed of it, and treated the area with a residual application to exterminate any returning bald-faced hornets and prevent them from rebuilding a nest.
