Hornets Nest on Light Fixture in Metuchen, NJ

Challenge

An elderly customer in Metuchen, NJ called our office after getting stung several times by a hornets nest that was attached to her back door light fixture. We were sent out to inspect and treat. When we arrived and inspected the nest, we identified the stinging insects inside as bald-faced hornets.

What makes bald-faced hornets especially terrifying, aside from being extremely aggressive, is they have smooth stingers, which means they can sting over and over again, can actually sense vibrations in the air, and remember their invader's face!

Solution

We grabbed our extendable pole and injected a knockdown dusting application directly into the opening of the nest. This treatment rapidly exterminates the bald-faced hornets. Once they were eliminated, we removed the nest, disposed of it, and cleaned the area.
