Lots of Mice Infesting Home in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
Challenge
We were sent out on a service call to a home in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ to handle a mouse problem. Upon inspection, we found heavy mice activity in both the attic and the basement. How did the mice get in? There were several wide gaps around the utility pipes in the basement and the gable vent in the attic was damaged. Fortunately, the homeowner didn't have any wildlife issues.
One very important piece of information that you need to remember about mice is that they can fit through an opening the width of a pencil. So if you noticed any gaps around the utility pipes in your home, seal them immediately!
Solution
First, we carefully cleaned up all the mouse droppings and then installed several rodent bait stations throughout the basement, attic, and along the exterior of the home. Next, we went into the basement and stuffed all the openings around the utility pipes with chew-proof stainless steel mesh and then sealed them in place with a waterproof, premium adhesive.
Lastly, we scheduled several follow-up visits to monitor the infestation and replenish the bait stations as needed. Once all the mice are removed from the home, the homeowner will replace his gable vent.
