German Cockroaches Hiding Behind the Appliances in Plainsboro, NJ
Challenge
The owner of a commercial building in Plainsboro, NJ discovered that he had German cockroaches in his kitchen. So he called Cowleys for help and we were sent out to inspect and treat.
During our investigation, we noticed that a few cockroaches were scurrying around the appliances in the area. Cockroaches are primarily nocturnal insects and if you notice a number of them crawling around your home or business during the day, that means that you have a large infestation of them. We inspected and found a number of cockroaches harboring around the motor boxes of the appliances as well as in the cracks and crevices of the dishwasher. This isn't uncommon as cockroaches are known for congregating in warm, humid areas.
Solution
First, we treated the electrical boxes, motor boxes, and the gaps on the side of the dishwasher with a knockdown aerosol product. This treatment will rapidly exterminate the cockroaches and flush them out of hiding. Afterward, we started treating all cracks and crevices with our microinjector that contains an EPA registered insect growth regulator combined with a residual product. This treatment affects the cockroaches' reproductive system and prevents them from reaching adulthood.
Although the infestation was rather large, we were able to get it under control with our treatments. Lastly, we scheduled several follow-up visits to monitor the infestation and apply any additional treatments if needed.
