European Hornets Nest Wedged in Garage Door in Eatontown, NJ

Challenge

As this new customer was getting ready to put his winter home in Eatontown, NJ on the market, he discovered a gigantic European hornets' nest in between his garage door and the frame! He called Cowleys and I was sent out to inspect and treat.

Minutes into my inspection, I found the large European hornet nest. Since this home was the customers' secondary residence, this nest was more than likely constructed over the entire summer and was able to grow so large due to the fact that it went unnoticed for quite some time.

Solution

First, I used a knockdown aerosol product and then a liquid knockdown application. Both these products will quickly eliminate the European hornets. After several moments, I carefully removed the nest out of the area and then disposed of it properly. Lastly, I cleaned the area and applied a residual to prevent any future stinging insects from reinfesting the area.
