Exterminators in Secaucus, NJ

Challenge

A homeowner in Secaucus, NJ called our office after finding a wasps nest by their front door. I was sent out to investigate and treat.

I began my inspection and found the wasp nest underneath an elevated deck portion by the front door. I took a closer look and identified them as paper wasps. Paper wasps are semi-social stinging insects with brown bodies and yellow or reddish markings. Due to their coloration and body shape, they are often mistaken for yellowjackets but have a slimmer waist and a triangular side view. Their nests start off small (much like the nest here), but if left untreated, they can grow to the size of a basketball and contain over 400 paper wasps! A sting from a paper wasp can be extremely painful and can cause allergic reactions in some people. 

Solution

First, I applied an aerosol application that exterminates the paper wasps almost immediately. I waited a few moments and then carefully removed the nest, properly disposed of it, and applied a residual product that will prevent any future stinging insects from re-infesting the area.
