Major Clean Up Needed in Old Bridge, NJ Commercial Kitchen
Challenge
Cowleys provides period servicing to a number of restaurants and other food-service business and facilities throughout New Jersey to keep their kitchens pest and rodent-free. In addition to applying preventative treatments and resolving infestations in their early stages before they turn into big trouble, we also conduct monthly inspections to determine if there are sanitation and hygiene deficiencies that could lead to pest infestations if not corrected.
During my monthly inspection of a restaurant in Old Bridge, NJ, I observed that they were starting to have sanitation problems, and brought this to the attention of the opening manager. Restaurant managers have many issues to deal with. My goal is to give them the necessary support so that pest control problems are avoided, and whenever i can, I want to nip any potential problems in the bud.
Solution
Attached are some photos of an kitchen with some sanitation issues that need to be addressed by the kitchen staff. Oftentimes, there are minor, inexpensive repairs that are easily overlooked that can go a long way in preventing pest infestations. With this restaurant, the back door needed to have its door sweep replaced because the existing sweep had a gap on the bottom right corner that would make it easy for foraging mice to enter. It is important to be vigilant about potential entry points and removing insect and rodent attractants. It is far more cost-effective and less trouble to prevent an infestation from happening in the first place.
