Turns out at the birds were roosting on the architrave of the door and the Lintel molding above the second story window.

We carefully cleaned up all the droppings, removed all the nesting debris, and disinfected the roosting areas. Afterward, we went back to our truck and fashioned two pieces of bird slope.
